F2F Week: Fine as Wine

Dress| Fashion to Figure
Belt| Burlington Coat Factory

Today's Dress comes from Fashion to Figure. As a matter of fact, all of my outfits will be coming from Fashion To Figure this week. I tried to locate it on their website but as of now it isn't posted there. This dress comes in this beautiful wine color and also in black. It does have a skinny belt that accompanies it but of course I added my own touch with the chain belt (purchased years ago). I also opted for animal print accessories and sleek black pumps.

"The Secretary" & Why I wear Belts

Today's Secretary Dress comes from Asos.com. Asos is a trendy stylish site and they feature a plus size line called Curve. This Asos Curve dress was purchased about two years ago but I only managed to wear it once. The dress came with out the belt.

I want to touch on the reasons why I belt the majority of my clothes!!!

1. It creates a more curvy silohette.
I dont have curvy hips so cinching my waist with belts gives my shape that illusion.

2. Belts are an accessory and they add flare to any drab or boring outfit.
I feel that by adding accessories to an outfit, it sort of makes it your own. Shows your creativity.

3. Instant Altering. Using a belt for what it was actually created for. To alter the shape of clothing. I tend to go up a size in my clothing. Instead of taking it in or exchanging it. I belt it and that alters the outfit to my liking.

4. I just happen to love them. Point blank period.

I hope this post puts belts in a whole new perspective. I know it's one of the most important accessories in my wardrobe.

BLACK & WHITE WEEK: Horizontal Stripes

BLOUSE| Fashion To Figure
SKIRT| Old Navy
BELT| Asos Curve
HOSE & SHOES| Torrid
Today's Look is the last installment of this Black & White Series. I love pairing black and white with shades of pink (because pink is my favorite color).

This ensemble features a button front blouse from Fashion To Figure. I purchased it a while ago so unfortunately it is no longer available.

The skirt however was purchased recently from Old Navy. It is now on sale for $15 on-line. I suggest going into the store because I got it for $9.00

My spider web stockings feature the oh so sexy line up the back of the stockings. They were purchased from Torrid. Some say they are a bit pricer but I can count on their hose to last.

My studded patent pumps were also purchased from Torrid. They weren't purchased this year so unfortunately they aren't available either.

The dress came from Forever 21. I purchased it about 2-3 months ago. It's no longer on their site in black. They do however have it in a variety of colors

Flaunt Your Figure

Today's Look is bought to you in part by Fashion to Figure.  A cute, simple, Aztec print dress. Comfy material. Easy to wear and easy to flatter most body shapes. I wish I would have gone one size smaller (I purchased a 3x) because it's a little roomy, but it still accentuates the parts of me that I like. So it's ok. It retails for $30.50. It comes with the skinny black belt.

My shoes were purchased from 9W. They are having a 30% off sale on already marked down shoes. I paid about $18.00 for them when they were originally over $70. It features a kttien heel (which I usually despise), a strap around the ankle, and t-strap design. Kitten heels are great for walking around Manhattan.

My necklace is also from Fashion to Figure. It was 10.00 and came with the drop studs I'm wearing.

GO BOLD or Go Home

Today's look is bought to you by ASHLEY STEWART. On a whim, I was in the store looking and decided to pick this fun and flirty dress up. I purchased it for $49.50 but now it's on sale for $34.65
I got it in a Size 18. I don't like form fitting dresses to be super tight so I went a size up. (I'm regularly a 16W)

My necklace and earring also came from Ashley Stewart. Tribal inspired with wood accents.
My bracelet is from Lane Bryant

SHOES by ANISA (listed in yesterday's post)

Bringing In Fall with a Summer Staple

Today's Look is bought to you in part by Fashion To Figure. I bought this dress a few months ago on a whim because it was on sale for less than $20.00. It is a Summer Dress. I chose the size 3x because most of their clothing is Junior Plus Size plus I knew I would chinch the waist so it being a little bigger wouldn't be a problem.

I chose to pair it with a wide Maroon belt (from NY & CO) to bring the colors of Fall into play. I also paired it with Tan shoes from UNISA. I've had these shoes for years and have hardly worn them. But they are super comfortable.

The jewelry is a mixture of print and solid pieces from various places!!!.

My bag of course is Michael Kors and is not meant to match. I just love the bag and am carrying it until I find another that I love as much as this one.

TGIW: Thank God It's Woo

Today, my resident photographer (my man: lol) wasn't available to take photos of my outfit so I wasn't able to capture it for you guys, but I did however take photos of the makeup. I went a little bolder due to day of the week and the blah-ness of black and white striping (the pattern of today's dress). It maybe a little too much for some in an office environment, but it works well for me!

FOREVER 31

TODAY IS ALL ABOUT PENCIL AND PEPLUM!!!!!.. (and yes I'm 31 years old)

I paired an Aztec inspired (or tribal print) pencil skirt with a peplum top that lends a pop of color to the somewhat drab skirt.  Both the top and skirt are from  FOREVER 21: Plus size sections ( purchased at different times).

My peep toe pumps were purchased from MACY's and are made by Style & Co. (very comfy)

MAKEUP!!!

I kept it simple today. I used MAC Bamboo in the crease and Patina on the lid. I used liquid liner from NYC to make a defined cat eye.
My blush and bronzer are made by E.L.F Cosmetics (it comes in a palette called St. Lucia: Blush and Bronzing Powder Duo).
My lip is a limited edition MAC Lipstick from the Alluring Aquatic Collection  (Mystical) and Whirl lip pencil.

OHHHH & I've been loving my new brow pencil. I've been using Maybelline Define A Brow in Medium Brown. I am obsessed with it!!!
Even the color of the lipstick tube coordinates with the outfit. Corny, i know!!!!

My cuff today is very interesting. This is the most interesting part of my ensemble in my opinion. I got it so long ago that I don't remember where. It has to be over 7 years old.

Hope you all enjoy this look as much as I did putting it together. Happy THURSDAY!!!!!

The Nude Pixie

Today's Look Features a new style of pant from Old Navy named "THE PIXIE" Skinny Ankle Pant. These ankle length trousers are 95% cotton and 5% spandex which make them extra comfy and flattering for almost all body types. They retail for $34.94... I chose the BLACK GRID pattern but they come in various prints and solid colors. Beyond Old Navy stating these are a Fall Must-Have, I agree with the statement because of the flexibility these pants offer. They can be styled for business or casual looks and we all look versatility in a pant (at least I do)

I paired them with a SQUARE SWEATER from Old Navy as well. ($24.94)

The belt is something I've had for a long time so I'm not sure of where I got it

Loafers and Jewelry are from NY &CO

Today's Makeup is all about Maybelline "THE NUDES" Palette. I spiced up my neutral smokey eye with a pair of natural lashes. My lip combo is Spice Lip Pencil with Dream Daze Mineral Lipstick from MacCosmetics
