A Night Out in NY

Hello Lovies!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Last week ended horribly for me due to dental problems. I usually go to the salon on Saturdays to do makeup but because I was in so much pain, I stayed in and cooked for my man ( I know, he stills get home cooking when I'm sick). Anywho, I had an event for my firm to go to at a Restaurant last night so I decided to put a little pizzaz into my look. Even though I was feeling horrible.
I stuck with all black (it never fails me).

The black sequin dress came from FOREVER21 Plus last year end of season. It was originally $30.00 but I got it for under $15 due to it being out of season. I just held on to it until it was an appropriate time to wear it.

I added a silver glitter belt from OLD NAVY to give it a little something extra.

My Black Sequin pumps are from Bakers. I got them a while ago.

My fishnets are from a street vendor near Bowling Green Station in NY.

NOW MY FAVORITE PART. MY TRENCH

My coat is from Dress to Kill Inc.

MadMen Coat
This coat comes in two colors (black and red). It has an exciting corset detailing in the back. They say it can double as a dress but I prefer to solely wear it as a coat.
It retails for $119.00 for regular size
$129.99 for plus sizes

Not All Mascaras are Created Equal

Good Morning Lovies!
Hope everyone out there is doing well this a.m. I decided to do this post because a lot of women struggle to find great mascaras. Mascara can change your entire look and I think it's something that every woman can do and everyone should own. It's the easiest makeup product to go from drab to fab.
I've been on such a mascara kick lately, I'm usually a false lash girl everyday. But recently I've been really into building my God given lashes with great mascaras.
I've done my research and these are my top contenders. In no particular order.

DIOR SHOW MASCARA
$25.00
This mascara is a great one. The brush and formula work so well together. It's a super creamy formula and it's buildable. The more coats you use, the better.
Con: The price point is a little higher than most mascaras.

LOREAL VOLUMINOUS CARBON BLACK MASCARA
$7-$10

This mascara is my all time favorite drugstore mascara. It's an oldie but goodie. It's drier formula works well for me due to my sensitive eyes (bad allergies). It can be layered with other formulas for even more dramatic look and the size of the brush is ideal for both top and bottom lash application. What more can I say about it, I love it.
Con: It dries out faster than most mascaras that I use so you'd be buying it more often.

TOO FACED BETTER THAN SEX MASCARA
$23.00
The brush is what makes this mascara amazing. It's swivel design coats and pulls out every single lash. I absolutely love that it gives you the most volume that a mascara can give.
It's not better than sex but it definitely is better than most mascaras I've used.
CONS: The brush sometimes gets super gunky and clumpy. Must wipe off excess product for maximum results

MAC IN EXTREME DIMENSION 3D BLACK MASCARA
$22.00
MAC has come along way with their mascara portfolio. There used to only be zoom lash and dazzle lash (which I loved but they could use some improvement) but then they stepped up their lash game by adding some superior formulas into the mix. This one was released, I think, last year sometime. And it has been making noise ever sense it's release. The major "PRO" about this mascara is the brush that has bristles all around it. It grabs every single lash and lengthens it times 10. The mousse like formula coats and nourishes the lashes. This particular formula has carbon black pigment in it so it's super duper black. I love it.
CONS: You can not pair this with any other mascara or it tends to get clumpy.

LANCOME HYPNOSE STAR MASCARA
$28.50
This dual-ended brush gives maximum volume and maximum curl. I tried this mascara on a whim because a miniture one came for free with another purchase and I fell in love with it. It's not my most favorite but it gets the job done and it does what it's supposed to. A good splurge item.
CONS: The price is super expensive for mascara.

MAC HAUTE AND NAUGHTY MASCARA (TOO BLACK)
$22.00
This is my FAVORITE Mascara at the moment. I've been using this religiously. I love that there are two seperate brushes (one for length/one for volume). There are also two seperate formulas (regular black and TOO BLACK). I tend to go with the TOO BLACK formula because it's creamier and darker due to the carbon pigment mixed into it. This mascara gives me life everytime I use it. I apply maybe 3 coats and my lashes are MEGA LASHES. I can't find fault with this mascara as of yet. I'm totally hooked.

Here's a photo of me rocking my HAUTE AND NAUGHTY Mascara. No alterations have been made to this picture and it was taken with my Samsung Galaxy S4.

I hope my post helps you lash lovers in some way.
Thank you for reading this post and as always,
XOXO!

The Perfect Midi Skirt

Cropped sweater| MACY's  Printed Midi Skirt| SYM's  Boots| DIBA

GOOD MORNING LOVIES!!!
I hope everyone is feeling great this a.m. I'm not a morning person but I've learned to be cheerful since I have to be up anyway!
So let's talk about Midi Skirts. I LOVE THEM!!!!! They are flattering and very feminine and flirty. They can either be uber casual or super dressy.

The skirt I have on today isn't new to my wardrobe. I got it some years back at SYM's Warehouse in Miami, FL. They now are out of business. The quality of the stuff you would find there was amazing and it was major designers for half the price. The print and detailing is what stood out to me along with the style. The material is like a felt cotton combination. Very warm and cozy feeling.

Though I couldn't find an exact replica for you guys, I did find similar style skirts.

LET'S TALK MAKEUP

Today, I tested out a new foundation routine. I wanted a more natural blended look on the face so I altered the steps to achieve that. Bare with me while I try to explain how I achieved this flawless look. The explanations are in the order of which I performed the task.

FACE PREP
I first prepped my skin with ESTEE LAUDER Illuminating Perfecting Primer
I then primed my brows and under my eyes with BLACK RADIANCE Eyeshadow Primer

FACE
I concealed under my eyes, under my brows, middle of forehead, center of chin and down the middle of my nose with MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC42) and ESTEE LAUDER Brush On Glow (Medium Deep).
I blended them both out with my beauty blender sponge.
I then brushed on MAC Studio Fix Fluid (NC50/NW45) around the perimeter of my face (forehead, temples, underneath my cheek bones, sides of nose).
Next, I used my foundation MAC Prolongwear (NC44) all over to blend the harsh lines of the highlight and contour.
I set everything with my pressed powder, MAC MSFN (Dark Golden).
I then bronzed my face with BLACK RADIANCE Bronze Glow Pressed Powder
BLUSH: MAC (Pinch Me)
POWDER TO SET CONCEALER: MAC Beauty Powder (Natural) from the Maleficent Collection
SHIMMER: MAC IEDSF (Whisper of Gilt)

EYES
ANATASIA BEVERLY HILLS: AMREZY PALETTE
Morocco on lid, Caramel in crease
NYC Liquid Liner
MAC Haute and Naughty Too Black Mascara on top lashes only
MAYBELLINE: Define a Brow

LIPS
MAC Lip Pencil (Beet)
TOO FACED MELTED Lipstick (Fuschia)

If you try these styles or looks, make sure you let me know or email me photos!!! I would love to see your style and interpretations!

As always, thank you for reading my blog and until next post.
