Blushing Bride: 4 Plus Size Wedding Designers That Wow!!

I've always feared that when I got married, I'd have the hardest time finding a fashionable sexy wedding dress for a woman my size. But that's just not the case anymore. Times are definitely changing. During my search for the perfect wedding dress (EEKkkkk my wedding is only 34 days away), I happened across a lot of amazing designers that continue to keep the Plus Size Fashionista in mind.

Sidebar: I did choose a dress, for myself, from one of the designers mentioned. However, my particular dress will not be posted in this post.

Please Note: These designers are not in any particular sequence. These are just the few I choose to highlight.

JULIETTA by Mori Lee

Can we just stop to appreciate this amazing designer?? All her gown seems to just have that wow factor. But the thing is, they are all so simply elegant. They can all be customized with various accents to better suit your style. I also like that she keeps her dress costs reasonably priced. Her gowns start at $700.
Here are some of my faves!

David's Bridal Plus Size

David's Bridal has really stepped their game up! They've recently introduced some game changing pieces to their Plus Size Collections. They great thing about David's Bridal is they are located almost everywhere. Easy Access is always a plus!!

Here are a few of my faves

Jibri Online

These are far from your normal wedding looks. Jibri Online specializes in highly fashionable plus size pieces for the uber stylish. With her new bridal collection, she definitely didn't disappoint. Along with more traditional silouhettes, she added non-traditional fabrics and less traditional looks (like the one-piece jumper featured below). She even features a black number that is stunningly beautiful. For the unconventional bride. I just wish she would have released them sooner. I definitely would have purchased a piece for my upcoming wedding (both of my wedding looks had been purchased months before she released this collection).
Here are my favorites from the collection.

Maggie Sottero

What's not to love about these super romantic beautifully crafted gowns?? I'm in awe of the stunning silouhettes paired with beautiful fabrics. Complete stunners. The ONLY thing I'm not so fond of with the brand is the choice of models. We can't quite adequately assess how they'd fit a plus size frame. However, each dress is exquisitely designed and crafted. I came across the brand while in a bridal shop. So I can attest to the craftsmanship and quality.

Here are some of my favorites.

All of the designers featured size from a size 0-28 (with some extending their sizes beyond 28).

Wedding Dress Shopping Tips

  • Always keep in mind (if ordering off line), to size UP. Wedding dresses run small.
  • I would always advise researching your designer of choice to see what boutique has them. That way, you can try them on before you by. This step is CRITICAL unless you are 100% sure of your sizing and style.
  • Give yourself an adequate amount of time for shipping and alterations. I ordered my dress atleast 7 months in advance. You can never be too safe
There are so many more designers that I've come across that deserve to be mentioned. But we definitely don't have the space in this post! lol...

This is NOT a sponsored post. All of my thoughts are my own and come from independently conducted research.

Two Divas/One Dress

They always say, "Great Minds Think Alike" and this couldn't be anymore true. My Makeup Sister, Gwen Pettie,  and I didn't even plan this! It just happened.

So we both subscribe to the amazing clothing service Gwynnie Bee (Mentioned a previous posts) and we both got this dress around the same time. So I figured why not blog the look. What's even more weird is we kind of styled our hair and accessories the same way (totally unintentional).
Not only is this dress uber flattering on both bodies, the color helps our melanin radiate.

This has to be my most favorite style of dress. The sleeves and cape detailing make the dress feel goddess like and the flirty-ness of the skirt gives it a little something extra. Though it is only sold through Gwynnie Bee, the dress is made by City Chic Online (which can be found at Nordstroms).
We BOTH are in LOVE with this dress.

So now, I hit you with the various poses to show this beauty off.

If you like the idea of the Two Divas/One Dress Collabs, let me know. I'd love to do something like this again.
This unintentional collab was super fun though and I appreciate my sister/friend Gwen Pette for agreeing to send my photos. You can find her on social media at the links below:
